MJ Innocent CAMPAIGN REMOVED FROM LONDON BUSSES

MJInnocent.com

Mar 14, 2019

The adverts for MJInnocent.com, a Michael Jackson glorification website, have been taken down from London transport buses following strong criticism from the Survivor's Trust, an organization supporting victims of rape and child sexual abuse. The trust deemed the adverts as "highly inappropriate" and urged Transport for London (TfL) to remove them.

These adverts had appeared on London buses as a result of a crowdfunding campaign that has raised £30,000 so far. The individuals behind this campaign is reported to be Anika Kotecha and Seany O’Kane, the latter, a former participant on Big Brother.

The website is known for its slogan "Facts Don't Lie, People Do." However, it has been noted that the website itself lacks substantial factual information and instead seeks to manipulate readers into believing that Wade Robson and James Safechuck are dishonest individuals, alleging that they have fabricated and altered their accounts of being sexually abused by Michael Jackson for personal financial gain.

You can find my comprehensive analysis of the website at the following link: article/a/p1/mj-innocent.html

It remains unclear whether Anika Kotecha and Seany O’Kane are the sole individuals involved in the development of the website, or if others have also contributed.

Groups of individuals wielding banners with the slogan "Facts Don't Lie, People Do." have aimed their criticisms at the director of Leaving Neverland, Dan Reed, and Channel 4.

About a week ago, I reached out to MJInnocent.com and explicitly informed the owner that I had published a blog post characterizing their website as a victim-shaming misinformation campaign.

Subsequently, I received the following reply:

"Many thanks for your email. You are certainly entitled to your opinion. However, we have done extensive research into the allegations against Michael Jackson and are confident he is innocent. We would rather believe the available evidence including, for example, the secret FBI investigations over the course of 10 years that found no evidence of wrongdoing (these records are publicly available on the FBI's website), or the fact that Wade Robson has lied several times in his lawsuit to the point where he was severely reprimanded by the judge on the basis that no rational trier of fact could believe his claims. If we took all accusations at face value, we would completely undermine the criminal justice system and the presumption of innocence until proven otherwise. All claims of sexual abuse should be taken seriously and investigated thoroughly but, equally, we must appreciate that false allegations do also get made (e.g., Operation Midland) and victims of false allegations are just as much victims as real victims of abuse. If you are interested in learning more about the truth behind these allegations, please do visit our website for more information. Remember, the two men have hundreds of millions of dollars at stake…a very good incentive to lie."

They did not refute any of my assertions and continue to assert that their website is based on factual information, which is a glaring falsehood.

If you are reading this, I urge you not to contribute any funds to this reprehensible victim-shaming campaign. Even if you firmly believe that Jackson was entirely innocent of harming children, please show compassion for those who have been victimized by individuals with traits similar to him.

Michael Jackson was not without fault, and his unhealthy preoccupation with young boys undoubtedly crossed ethical boundaries. I believe most reasonable individuals would concur with that sentiment.
